UAFMA History
The Evolution of Independent Filmmaking in Uzbekistan
UAFMA regularly hosts creative meetups, film screenings, and premieres. Between 1996 and 2022, it organised eight national and one international independent film festival. The association provided financial assistance to 56 independent film makers and facilitated creative missions for 24 members across Uzbekistan and CIS countries, supporting several groups in outdoor film shoots.
January, 1989
UAFMA was founded during a conference in Tashkent by independent filmmakers from Uzbekistan.
2000
UAFMA had 250 individual and five collective members.
2000–2001
Creation of a Video Studio and Film Courses for Amateurs.

The association is reestablishing international collaborations in non-professional cinema and continues to work closely with professional film makers and experienced enthusiasts to produce high-quality films.
